Student IMPACT Program Hosts Fundraising Bloomingdale Golf Tournament

On Saturday, September 22, IMPACT will host a golf tournament at the Bloomingdale Golf Course.

“This is our fourth tournament; we have one in the spring and one in the fall,” said developmental director Bill Kagey.

IMPACT is a nonprofit program that does a number of things.

  1. It teaches abstinence education and promotes abstinence till marriage in Hillsborough County High School H.O.P.E. classes (Health Opportunities through Physical Education).

  2. It presents messages to children at local Ys and Boys & Girls Clubs through skits put on by teens regarding healthy living and healthy relationships.

  3. Offers parents program that teaches adults how to communicate with students and prepare for their future.

IMPACT is funded by the local community and the program and tournament will be run by Kagey and his wife, the executive director, Angie.

“We are hoping to have anywhere from 75-140 golfers,” said Kagey.

Tournament check in is at 8 and it starts at 9 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be offered along with prizes for the winner and a giveaway.“Anybody can participate that wants to, good or bad golfers,” said Kagey.

Kagey urges everyone to support or participate because of the impact the program has on the community.

“We literally impact thousands of teens in Hillsborough County and Pasco County, we spoke to thousands of teens last year,” said Kagey.

IMPACT will use its funding to put on its programs and also spread its teachings to Pasco County.

A single golfer can play for $100, a group of four can play for $400 and a hole in one sponsorship can purchased be for $1,000.
