About Us

The IMPACT PROGRAM promotes healthy living and relationships to teens through TEEN IMPACT, to parents through the PARENT PROGRAM, and to teachers and other youth leaders through CLASSROOM EDUCATION.

Our Story

In the past 27 years, IMPACT has presented its positive message to more than 150,000 teens through classroom education. Using nationally-known, evidence-based, and highly regarded curricula, trained staff and/or volunteers deliver risk avoidance education presentations to 12-18 year-olds in Hillsborough County's public and private schools, as well as other community locations. The curricula provides character development modules, teaching teens the value of delaying sexual activity until marriage and the importance of how to avoid other high-risk behaviors, such as alcohol and drug use, which go hand in hand with early sexual activity.

Teen IMPACT is a peer-mentoring program for high school teens who commit to abstain from non-marital sex, drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products. They join other teens for clubs, meetings, and fun events where they can enjoy the camaraderie of others who share their values. Teen IMPACT members are subsequently eligible to apply for IMPACT'S Summer Staff and trained to deliver skit-based presentations to middle school students at community locations.

The Parent Program is designed to educate parents about issues related to positive youth development and to equip parents with ways to help their teens avoid high-risk behaviors that lead to teen pregnancy and STDs as well as the emotional consequences related to early teen sexual activity. The one-hour Parent Program is perfect for PTSAs, neighborhood groups, business "lunch-and-learns", book clubs, or religious adult education classes.
